I had time with The Lord this morning, and these questions came up: Where are you with your talents? Which of the three persons are you? I hadn't given much thought to that probing question for a long time. Which of those people are you? That is the question The Lord posed to me.
Sometimes we feel that we are doing quite well, other times we feel as though we are failing. I have gone through a period of failure. When you feel like you are failing, it always is you failing, not The Lord.
I haven't written a blog since May, and today The Lord spoke to my heart asking why not. I didn't have a good answer. Don't you want to encourage others? Is your time so wrapped up in trying to make a living, that you don't have time for others? What's up with that? You pray the Lord's prayer many times in a day. Do you believe it when you say "give us this day our daily bread" that I will do that? My head hung pretty low after I heard those words of rebuke,
We all have talents that we posses, and today I want to encourage you to use them to the best of your ability. The Lord rebuked me, and it was enough to encourage you. Who do you know that He can help through you? Are we all too wrapped up in ourselves; are we too worried that He won't take care of us? There is an adversary that we all face every day of our lives, but who do we trust will put him in his place? Ourselves, or God? It isn't as easy as it sounds, because the one ingredient that it takes is Faith. Faith says take the talents that He has given you, and believe that He will increase them. We say, what can the little that I have been given do for others, and then bury our talents in the sand.
So today I want to challenge you, and challenge myself to trust God, and see what happens. Be of good cheer for God loves a cheerful giver.
